IN THE NIGHT Agent season 2, the story goes international. Sure, season 1 had some international ramifications—the entire conspiracy rested on the fact that the United States Vice President and his allies thought that an international figure was a poor ally for the sitting presidential administration to be making. But season 2 takes it a step further, expanding the conspiracy at hand from one happening on U.S. soil and with U.S. players into one that has global ramifications.
That’s because we’ve got some good old fashioned spycraft and information leaking going on. One of season 2’s most important characters is Noor Taheri, an aide who works for Abbas Mansuri—the Iranian Ambassador to the UN in New York City.
She figures into things because she’s the one who brings everything together; she’s leaking information to the CIA in an attempt to secure political asylum for both herself and her family who remain in Iran, but also has the understanding that her boss, Mansuri, is receiving leaked information of his own from Warren Stocker—the man who we saw Peter and Alice pursuing to start the season. There’s a twisty web here that is just being unwoven when the season begins.
But as we get into the season, we begin to see more and more maneuvering. Eventually, Peter and Rose link up with Noor—but she’s got her own agenda, of course, still in play. And that’s not counting all of the chemical weapon and international conspiracy action at play as well.
Noor is a vital figure in how The Night Agent season 2 winds up playing out, and actress Arienne Mandi plays her in a way that keeps her both intriguing and compelling.
Arienne Mandi plays Noor in The Night Agent season 2
The role of Noor in The Night Agent season 2 is Arienne Mandi’s biggest role in her career thus far.
She’s posted about the show often, and recently did an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show alongside some of her castmates to promote season 2.
Prior to The Night Agent, Mandi was best known for playing one of the lead roles in The L Word: Generation Q, which aired for three seasons between 2019 and 2023; the show served as a sequel to Showtime’s original The L Word, which aired between 2004 and 2009. She also appeared on shows like NCIS and Hawaii Five-0.
Mandi also played the lead role in a film called Tatami, where she portrayed an Iranian woman competing at the World Judo Championships; the film was co-written and co-directed by Guy Nattiv, who previously won an Academy Award for Best Live-Action Short film for Skin.
