BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER has finally been released this week for fans of the superhero to watch. The show had some trouble getting off the ground at first (due to being initially ordered to series by Max, and then being canceled, and then being nabbed instead by Prime Video) but now is available to be able to be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home.

The show, which is animated, mirrors the classic ’90s cartoon Batman: The Animated Series, which was a staple in many households. According to Prime, season 1’s plot will closely follow Bruce Wayne as he becomes a legendary name in Gotham City:

Welcome to Gotham City, where the corrupt outnumber the good, criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear. Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human—the BATMAN. His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.

Batman: Caped Crusader features Hamish Linklater as Batman/Bruce Wayne, and Christina Ricci as Catwoman, among others.

For anyone looking for the show’s bonafides, it counts tons of accomplished names on its behind the scenes credits list. Some of those include Bruce Timm, who was the lead producer of Batman: The Animated Series, along with super-producer J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves (writer/director of The Batman), and legendary comics writer Ed Brubaker.
