What It’s Like Using The Carol Bike

One of the first elements that excited me about the Carol Bike versus the Peloton bikes was the ability to use a toe cage. For those who haven’t had a Peloton experience yet, Peloton bikes require you to use bike clips and cleats, meaning if you want to ride you can’t just hop on in your typical training shoes. This can be pretty disruptive to your workout if you are trying to hammer through a quick session.

The set-up is easy enough for anyone who’s done an assembly before. A few screws with an allen wrench that comes with the parts, where you are mostly connecting pieces of the frame together. The whole process takes less than an hour, which is par for the course for any kind of machine like this. The bike’s foundation is solid, and doesn’t have any movement issues like rocking (whether it’s set up on carpet or wood floors). Having the bike put together for you is also an option, if you don’t mind paying $300 more.

Why I Like Using The Carol Bike

One of the reasons I enjoy the Carol Bike is its ability to tailor workouts to the user. I have never been much of a class person (spin or otherwise) and for other bikes like the Peloton, that is the primary offering. Personally, I’ve always liked to take my own path and pace, whether that is out on a run, my road bike, or on a stationary machine. This independence and individualized kind of approach is what the Carol Bike excels at. Not to mention its ability to deliver a highly impactful workout in under a minute.

The concept that the Carol Bike’s proprietary programming is built around is called REHIT, which stands for reduced exertion high-intensity interval training. You are likely familiar with HIIT workouts, which usually take less than 30 minutes to execute. Carol’s trademark REHIT methodology delivers potent workouts in two 20-second sprints, geared to your fitness level. This is determined during an assessment ride that calculates your ability and personalizes the ideal resistance for you to make quick gains.

The bike’s AI is like a trainer who is working with you one-on-one, in the respect that the more that you use it, the more attune it becomes to you as an individual. If that is the experience you’ve been looking for at home, the Carol Bike may be the pick for you. And now is certainly the time to snatch up a good deal on it.
