Corrections NZ announces $5M EHR deal 

The New Zealand Department of Corrections is adopting a patient management system from Canada to improve healthcare for persons in custody.

It recently signed a NZ$9 million ($5.3 million) agreement with EHR solutions provider Intrahealth to deliver its PMS over seven years.

In a statement, Intrahealth said its solution “will improve operational efficiency by automating tasks, reducing paperwork, and simplifying processes, freeing up the health team to focus on providing quality patient care.” The PMS will also ensure patient data privacy through advanced security protocols and regular audits. 

Gold Coast Health trials AI scribe 

Outpatient departments across Gold Coast Health in Queensland are trying out an AI scribe to reduce time spent on clinical documentation.

The ambient listening solution from Lyrebird Health combines voice-to-text technology with AI to automate note-taking and producing clinical documents. 

More than 7src specialists are partaking in the first stage of trials, which aim to validate the use of the technology for future organisation-wide rollout.  

NSW GPs get access to BI platform

The Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network in New South Wales is assisting GP businesses with improving their financial health by extending access to a business intelligence platform.

GPs participating in the PHNs Sustainability and Viability Initiative can now have free 12-month access to Cubiko’s Sustainability Support Platform. The data analytics platform supports practices to optimise their operational efficiency and financial performance. 

Latest Personify Care digital pathways implementations in Western Australia, New Zealand 

The Endoscopy and Gastroscopy units at Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group (FSFHG) in Western Australia are now outfitted with digital patient pathways provided by Personify Care.

Personify Care’s digital pathways were initially implemented to augment the LifeFit SurgFit program of South Metropolitan Health Service, a network the FSFHG is a part of. 

Colonoscopy and gastroscopy patients are now automatically enrolled in the program via a simultaneous integration with the patient administration system WebPAS. Their patient-reported information is also automatically uploaded to the BOSSnet digital medical record.

Based on a media release, the two-way integration with the digital medical record and PAS is helping reduce the time spent on patient screening, detect clinical risks early, and decrease cancellation rates and wait time. 

Personify Care’s digital patient pathways have also been implemented across the surgical settings of MercyAscot Private Hospitals in New Zealand. 

The implementation, according to Personify Care, will streamline the patient admission process, enhancing the patient flow and reducing uncertainties associated with hospital admission.
