Not only does the Series 7 offer eight attachments for customized trimming on any area of the body, but its integrated adjustment wheel provides a whopping 40-length settings, minimizing the need for additional attachments and allowing you to truly tailor your look.

Other standard features like its wet/dry cutting capability, AutoSense technology that adjusts the cutting power to the thickness of your hair, sharp-yet-gentle ProBlade blades and a well-thought-out travel case make this a high-performing trimmer that feels much more expensive than it actually is. It’s not without its downsides, which can be more apparent depending on how you plan to use the Braun All-In-One, but the positives still outweigh the negatives.

As a grooming editor, I’ve spent a lot of time testing just about every groomer, trimmer, and shaver you can imagine and I found the Braun All-In-One to be a great option for anyone who wants to simplify their routine and keep things streamlined. It’s powerful enough to tackle most grooming jobs put in front of it, and the wealth of attachments make it that much easier. Seasoned groomers, or those with more complicated routines, may find it lacking in some areas, but I believe that for the price, it’s one of the best out there—which is why we have named it the best body grooming kit.

Design and Features

The best thing about the design of the Braun All-In-One Series 7 is how simple it is. The body of the trimmer is sleek and easy to hold. Plus, instead of a ton of buttons, there is only a single power button which helps the overall simplicity of the casing. The focal point, however, is the built-in wheel which allows you to adjust length settings easily and quickly without switching attachments.

The largest numbers on the wheel (from 0.5-10) are used when the shortest length guard is attached and the second set (from 11-20) is for the longer guard. For those taking a tally, the brand-boasted 40 settings are available because you can set the guard on half settings (like 2.5) for further customization. The casing itself is lightweight without seeming cheap, though it can feel a little flimsy in your hand compared to higher-priced models made from different materials, and this certainly contributes to the durability of this razor. Unlike some other devices, the brand also does not disclose the power of the motor inside, which is usually a sign that it’s not strong enough to warrant attention.

That being said, I have found it to be strong enough to power through all the hair on my body (the AutoSense technology, which adjusts the blade speed to the thickness of your hair, likely helps with this). However, even with the long battery life we found that a full head-to-toe trim job all at once was a bit too much for this device to handle. I’d suggest taking a break to let it rest a bit or breaking up your grooming routine into separate days.

The included attachments are welcome, as they are part of what makes this tool truly all-in-one. The two-length combs are designed for trimming your head and beard, and work well when combined with the adjustable wheel. I don’t anticipate anyone using the longer one for body trimming, but the short one works fairly well on the body if you’re going for a longer look.

The only dedicated body attachment is a separate blade, which cuts hair to the skin and is ideal to prevent cross-contamination, but leaves a bit of stubble. While there is a foil detail shaver attachment, it’s too small to be used to truly shave your body. It would be great if there was a larger foil shaver attachment for the body for those who like a smooth finish. Other attachments like the detail trimmer and ear/nose hair trimmer are solid and work well, and there is even a separate T-blade for lineups, which is a thoughtful addition to the selection of attachments. To round out the offerings, two fade guards are included.

I’m happy to note that this tool comes with a travel case that actually fits all of the attachments, which is a handy design feature that not all trimmers can claim. With something like this, it’s helpful to have the device and all the attachments in one place, not just for travel but for everyday storage as well. Strangely, though, you need to really cram the charging cord in there (it will fit, but there is no specific space for it).

Effectiveness

Even though the brand does not disclose the power of the motor, if there is one thing you can count on from Braun, it’s a great cutting experience and the All-In-One is no exception. Compared to similarly priced trimmers I’ve used, this one delivers a superb cut all around. Between the AutoSense technology and the sharp yet gentle ProBlade technology, I found that this trimmer cut through all of my hair with ease, no matter if I was trimming my hair, mustache, or body.

Personally, I feel that this trimmer is more of a body groomer or beard trimmer that you can use on your head versus the other way around. What I mean by that is, unlike some trimmers that are inspired by professional tools, this one feels more like a body groomer than a barber tool. Even without a foil shaver attachment, I like the finish it delivered on my body whether I was using the attachments or not. It didn’t pull my hair and I felt comfortable using it in more sensitive areas.

I also used it to trim my mustache and it worked well on that, too. I like that it includes detail trimmer and shaver options to help me manage my stache without switching tools as well. I’d imagine it would work well as a beard trimmer on a full beard judging from how easy it was to use on my mustache.

Using it on my head was … fine. The length attachment fit well on the device and I didn’t have any issues, though the attachment itself is a little flimsy so I can see how it may be more difficult to use on a longer length. My hair is very short and I usually have a full buzz, which is just about the easiest at-home cut you can give yourself. I found that the blades cut well on my head and I didn’t need to go over the same areas more than I do with other trimmers to get a smooth, even finish.

That said, I’m not entirely convinced that this would be great for more complicated cuts. The fade attachments seem to work well but are fairly narrow compared to some others I’ve used, so you’re not going to get a huge payoff with them. Also, given the design of the length guards, I think using them on very long settings may require a bit more finesse and could require you to go over the same areas multiple times.

With all of that said, I think the ideal scenario for the Braun All-In-One is using it as a body groomer or beard trimmer that you happen to use on your head every so often (like for touch-ups between barber cuts).

Value

Currently on sale for $76 at publication time (typically retails for just under $100), the Braun All-In-One trimmer sits right in the middle of the market and definitely feels that way. It’s less durable than pricier models and lacks some features of its luxury counterparts, but the thoughtfulness of the design and the fact that you can use it for so many things sets it apart from other similarly priced models I’ve tried. It performs slightly better than some other comparably priced tools I’ve used, too, and certainly better than cheaper ones. Weighing the price against the performance and possibilities this trimmer offers, it’s a solid investment that feels more expensive than it actually is.

How To Clean

Since the Braun All-In-One is fully waterproof, cleaning it is easy: You just run it under the tap. The brand recommends doing this after every use. If a deeper clean is required, you can detach the head from the base and rinse both under the water, using a bit of liquid soap if so desired (cleaning solution and blade oil are not included). I found that rinsing it under the faucet after every use is more than sufficient to keep the device clean.

Final Verdict

While not without its flaws, the Braun All-In-One Series 7 trimmer is a well-designed and effective trimmer for head-to-toe grooming considering the price point. The included attachments and integrated features make it feel like a more expensive device and its ability to be used on all areas of the body separates it from the pack. Durability and some cutting issues are to be expected in a trimmer at this price and this one does fall victim to those. However, I would be confident using this device for all my trimming needs. In that sense, just from a price-per-use perspective, the Braun All-In-One is a great investment.
