WHEN IT COMES to Amazon and its slew of daily discounts and deals, the Amazon Resale section is rarely mentioned. While it’s not necessarily hidden, it’s seldom advertised by the site and is still relatively under the radar. Ever wonder what happens to some of the returns you’ve made after taking said item out of the box? Well, now you do. Formerly known as Amazon Warehouse, Amazon’s resale section features gently used and open-boxed products at heavily discounted rates.
If you’re inherently thrifty or don’t mind bargain basement shopping for used products, this is a great way to get steals on some of your favorite brand-name items. Think of this as the e-commerce version of a garage sale, where only each product is thoroughly vetted for quality assurance; you’re not always getting that type of service from your next-door neighbor.
Right now, Amazon is offering serious savings on dozens of products our readers love and rust. Apple, VIZIO, Adidas, Samsonite, and, of course, Amazon are featuring products up to 69 percent off right now. The section is a little tricky to navigate, so we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite deals below.

How Does Amazon Resale Work?
Amazon’s hidden deals section, formerly marketed as Amazon Warehouse, utilizes a 20-point quality assurance test and categorizes products based on metrics such as functionality, appearance, and packaging condition, allowing you to know precisely the type of condition you’re getting your gear in. And don’t let the second-hand nature of some of these products fool you: Many of them are open-box returns or lightly used products totally refurbished by Amazon. The steep discounts don’t necessarily reflect just how perfect the condition of some of these items is.
Amazon, of course, is also super transparent about the condition of every item after it goes through the quality assurance stage. The following categories thoroughly detail the condition each product is in:
Used – Like New: The item is fully functional and contains all its essential accessories. The packaging may have some light damage, but the item is close to brand new, totally functional, and refurbished.
Used – Very Good: The product is still in great condition and fully functional; it may have seen some gentle use from the packaging. It could have some slight cosmetic damage and may be missing some non-essential items, which will be de-noted on the product listing.
Used – Good: The product had moderate usage and shows a little bit more wear and tear. The package may be damaged or the item has been completely repackaged. In this case, some key accessories may also be missing.
Used – Acceptable: The product features noticeable wear, but is still fully functional. It may contain a bit more cosmetic damage and/or light wear and tear. Essential and non-essential accessories may also be missing but will be listed as such under the product listing.
Used – As-is: The item shows extensive cosmetic damage and/or wear and tear. It can still perform its main functions but may be missing valuable components. It may or may not work properly unless said items are purchased separately. The full condition of the item will be shown in the product listing.
I know what you’re thinking: Why haven’t I ever come across the Amazon Resale section and where do I find it?” For starters, chances are, you probably have. You can see some options on individual product listings under the “Other sellers on Amazon” section. If you want to get to the actual Resale page to canvass all of their offerings, you can click on the drop-down menu on Amazon’s homepage and switch between categories to search from, as shown below.
You can also search for specific products in the Resale section, as you would on Amazon’s typical homepage. The other great thing about Amazon resale? You don’t have to be a Prime Member (although we highly recommend it). These deals are available to the general public.
If you’re unsatisfied, Amazon also offers a free replacement within 30 days of your purchase. So, really, there is no risk when browsing their hidden deals section—other than the risk of buying too much awesome stuff.
