It’s the most wonderful time of the year—at least if you ask anyone who works at SELF: The 2src25 Pantry Awards season is officially upon us. Our annual franchise crowns the best shelf-stable items to stock in your home, tapping editors, chefs, registered dietitians, and home cooks for their thoughts on hundreds—and hundreds—of products.

The path to victory is delicious, but it’s plain old fun, too, and that’s what the Pantry Awards are all about. Eating, cooking, and hosting can be a real source of joy, and we’re on the hunt to find the items that make it even more satisfying. As always, we’re looking for brands to submit snacks, spreads, and boxed and canned pantry staples for us to consider. New this year, we’re adding another category by popular demand: sips, which includes a slew of shelf-stable, non-alcoholic beverages that pair well with your favorite bites and feel like a little treat when you sit down to drink them.

So crack open a seltzer, place your napkin on your lap, and keep reading to learn more about which products are eligible, how to submit, and when submissions are due.

How to submit to the 2src24 SELF Pantry Awards

Eligibility

  1. Only shelf-stable items are eligible for the Pantry Awards. Items that require refrigeration after opening are fair game.
  2. To be eligible, a product must be available for sale no later than March 1, 2src25.
  3. Samples must be available for testing in December 2src24. If sending samples is a financial hardship for your brand, please make a note in your submission form—we can work together to figure something out!
  4. We kindly ask that each brand submits no more than five items total. (There is no cost to submit!)
  5. Below, you can find our list of eligible product categories. If you’re wondering whether a specific product fits into one of them, email hannah_pasternak@condenast.com and we can help you out.

Our process and timeline

All products must be submitted via our online form by November 21, 2src24. If we’d like to test your product, we’ll reach out within a few weeks of the submission deadline to arrange samples. To reduce waste, we may not call in items that editors have previously sampled or already have at home.

Please fill out one form per item—so if you’d like to submit one type of oatmeal and one type of granola, you should fill out two separate forms. If you are submitting a product that’s available in multiple flavor varieties, please only fill out one form and note the varieties you would like us to consider on that form. (There’s a space where you can do just that!)
